Liverpool is now home to a new infant care centre, the first of its kind in the area.
The facility opened its doors for the first time on Monday but they held their grand opening today.
The Infant Care Facility accepts children as young as four months old, an age group that was previously unserviced in the area.
Scott Christian, Chairman of the Queens Daycare Association Board says the facility which was constructed by Lloyoll Prefabs can accommodate eight children. “Right now we have seats for eight children but the building has been designed to be expanded if needed,” Christian said.
Christian says he and his wife experienced the challenges associated with a lack of child care personally and he’s happy this facility will alleviate those concerns for some. “Not having child care means families need to make tough choices about their careers and having a facility like this eases that burden which disproportionately affects working women.”
Anyone interested in sending their child to the new facility which is located at 108 College Street in Liverpool can contact them via email to inquire about availability.
