The Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) has charged a 65-year-old man who now lives in Toronto with a slew of sexually related charges stemming from incidents that took place between 1978 and 1981.
In February, BPS received a report from Toronto Police of a historical sexual assault involving a victim who was young child at the time.
After investigating BPS confirmed the reported time frame and prepared charges against 65-year-old John Nathaniel Nauss who now resides in Toronto.
At the time of the alleged incidents, Nauss is believed to have worked for an unspecified local faith organization, where the alleged assaults are also believed to have taken place.
On June 10, they laid 19 charges against Nauss who was then arrested by Toronto Police. He now faces 9 charges of Acts of gross indecency and 10 counts of Indecently assaulting a victim.
The investigation is continuing and investigators believe that there may be more victims. If you are a victim or you have any information related to these incidents, please contact the Bridgewater Police Service General Investigation Section at 902-543-2464.
Nauss is set to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on August 3.
