The East Coast Music Awards announced this year’s nominees on Tuesday and Nova Scotia has a lot of representation.
This year’s ECMA includes awards for 44 categories, and of the 234 nominations, 106 of them went to artists or groups from Nova Scotia.

Leading the way for Nova Scotia with six nominations is Classified, the Spryfield rapper for his acoustic album Retrospected, which features acoustic versions of his previously released singles.
With six nominations Classified tied with Prince Edward Islands’ The East Pointers for the most nominations at this year’s ECMA.
Restrospected was nominated for album of the year, along with “Every Season” by fellow Nova Scotian Kristen Martell who lives in Mahone Bay.

The award ceremony will take place in Halifax this year, running from May 3-7.
